CAREER AMBASSADOR PROGRAM (CAP)
Student Volunteer Program

WHO WE ARE:

  • Undergraduate students from all majors
  • Outgoing, friendly, with great interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic about helping other students achieve their career goals

WE ARE COMMITTED TO:

  • Promoting the services and programs offered by Career Services
  • Serving as career mentors to undergraduate students
  • Disseminating information about career services, special events and career programs
  • Identifying and attracting new reputable employers and performing internet research
  • Writing career articles and blogs for the career ambassador newsletter
  • Attending and volunteering at large scale events such as career and internship fairs and student/alumni networking dinners
  • Interacting with recruiters and students during special programs, career fairs, mock interviews, etc.
  • Serving as liaison between Career Services and respective student organizations publicizing career information that pertain to the job search, graduate school and interview preparation

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN AMBASSADOR:

  • Full-time undergraduate status at St. Thomas Aquinas College
  • Completion of at least one full semester
  • Good standing with the Dean of Students Office
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.50, which will be verified. If your cumulative GPA does not meet the minimum, please attach a statement explaining why
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, friendly, and a positive attitude
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Creativity (ability to generate new ideas)
  • Expected to attend training sessions
