“There’s no place like home,” a line from her favorite movie “The Wizard of Oz,” sums up Samantha Bazile’s deep connection to St. Thomas Aquinas College. She truly is at home in her role as Director of Admissions, overseeing the College’s recruitment and admissions operations. She brings the perspective of an alumna—having earned a BS in Social Science at St. Thomas Aquinas—and more than 16 years of experience in admissions counseling and recruitment.
As a student, Samantha founded the Spartan Ambassadors, a campus tour guide group, and quickly realized the rewards of helping new students begin their collegiate journeys. Today, she says that there’s nothing more fulfilling than meeting a student at a college fair and seeing them walk across the stage at graduation four years later. She believes that the one-on-one attention professors give students and the campus-wide sense of community make St. Thomas Aquinas College stand out.
In her second role as Chief Diversity Officer, Samantha co-chairs the Center for Social Justice (CSJ) led by President Ken Daly. The Center is dedicated to the principles of social justice and equity — to foster critical discussions on a range of social issues that promote respect, equity, and justice.
A little known fact about Samantha? She was named after Samantha Evans, a character on the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives.
