Allan Doyle Jr. ’25 is a Communication Arts major and Marketing minor who looks back on his journey at St. Thomas Aquinas College with enthusiasm and gratitude. As Commencement approaches, Allan notes that one of his most memorable experiences took place in April 2024. A group of fellow STAC students, members of the Career Center, and a former professor had the incredible opportunity to visit the Good Morning America set in New York City. It was an unforgettable day, where they not only toured the studio but also met iconic television personalities like Michael Strahan, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion, and more. Allan met celebrities working in the field, captured amazing pictures and videos, and gained a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into a live television production.
When Allan first started his journey at St. Thomas Aquinas College, he initially chose a major that wasn’t the right fit. That same semester with the help of advisors and mentors, he discovered what he was truly passionate about. Some of Allan’s favorite classes throughout his college journey surround video editing and production, journalism, content development for public relations, and broadcast media.
His advice to incoming students is not to rush the process, and he notes how college is about growth and self-discovery: “My advice to any student who is gearing up to begin their college journey is to understand that there is no pressure on you to be “perfect” and that you are not expected to be amazing straight out of the gate once you begin your first semester. Take time to learn more about yourself.” As Allan notes, “for example, one might think they’re meant to be a journalist because they love telling stories, but they may realize that their true passion lies in helping people and seeking the truth — which could instead lead them down a path to law or advocacy to help make a difference in the lives of others.”
In addition to his Communication courses, Allan was able to assist in the planning of the College’s Annual Earth Day Celebration. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the event had to be canceled. We are still extremely proud of our students, including Allan, who came together during the Spring 2025 semester to learn the ins and outs of event planning through hands-on coursework. Allan noted: “I was part of the marketing and public relations team for our Earth Day Celebration, and my main duty was to create and organize the idea I had for an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt named “A.D’s GMC: Allan’s Green Machine Crusade.” I developed the scavenger hunt idea and brand, collaborated with vendors to organize clues and check-in locations, produced materials like maps, clue cards, and rewards, and supported overall event logistics and marketing.” Although the event could not be held, Allan gained incredible skills along the way.
At STAC, students ignite their passions, grow academically and personally, and make a profound difference in the world during their time on campus and beyond.
