Dr. Burns, Assistant Dean of the School of STEM, has been teaching at St. Thomas Aquinas College for more than twenty years. He received his bachelor of science degree in Chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA, and earned his PhD in Analytical and Physical Chemistry from Boston College. He taught in New England prior to his arrival at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
Dr. Burns enjoys teaching chemistry to students of all levels, and is a sought-after advisor for students in the School of STEM. They can often be found waiting outside of his office to prep for an exam, review homework or discuss their major.
Locally, Dr. Burns is a member of the Sparkill Creek Watershed Alliance, where each summer, members collect samples from the creek and analyze them to determine the concentration of nitrate and phosphate.
