College Major: Bachelors in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology
As a Regional Admissions Counselor, Marina Fladung works in Putnam County, Westchester County, and Connecticut territories, building connections with prospective students and guiding them in becoming part of the STAC community.
Marina graduated from Caldwell University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. Her past work experience, which includes positions in the healthcare, fitness, and hospitality industries, helped her to develop sound customer service and communications skills—both essential to her role in college admissions.
“Admissions is where I am meant to be,” Marina says. “Having the opportunity to work with prospective students during what can sometimes be a stressful time in life and offer a helping hand to help them navigate it all is extremely rewarding.”
What makes STAC stand out? Marina believes it’s the college’s dedication to students, close campus community, numerous opportunities for career advancement, and a dedicated faculty and staff.
When she’s not busy at work, Marina likes hiking, vacationing ”anywhere with a beach,” finding new neighborhood coffee shops and restaurants, and hanging out with her pets—three dogs and a cat. One of five children in her family, Marina grew up in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, and describes her childhood as “exciting” because she and her siblings were always on the lookout for new adventures. Once, after they watched the Disney movie “Cool Runnings,” her older brother wanted to form a family bobsledding team, so they built a bobsled and took it out in the snow for a test run.
Now, Marina is just as excited about being part of the STAC Admissions team and to helping prospective students set out on their very own adventures in college.
