July 10-14: Exploring the Link between Mathematics and Art
Campers will investigate the intersection of mathematics and art through a week of hands-on creative activities. We will explore how the Fibonacci Numbers relate to art and architecture, use ratios and proportions to design original sculptures, and scale up images to generate our own “Street Art”. We will also examine the hidden mathematics in origami, fractals, perspective, and mosaics. By the end of camp, camper will have begun crafting a graphic novelette incorporating the use of mathematics in their illustrations.
