Patrick Bernard D’Auria ’75, a retired insurance professional and former NFL scout, has returned to his roots in education as a full-time substitute teacher and coach in Southport, NC. Enrolling at St. Thomas Aquinas College after returning from the military, Patrick shares, “the educational environment was so conducive to learning.”
Patrick began a teaching and coaching career in both Hartford and New Haven, CT. In 1982, he started an insurance career and was in that field for 35 years. Patrick notes: “Also, during that time, I was a part-time scout and signed free agents for the Denver Broncos Professional Football Team and I volunteered at The Holy Spirit Café at St Ann’s Church in Nyack, NY, to help members of the community in need.
Inspired by his time at STAC and his favorite professor, Dr. Mary McGann, Patrick continues to make a positive impact in education, community service, and as a proud grandfather to six. Fun fact: Patrick is currently taking acting classes!
