St. Thomas Aquinas College’s Experiential Learning Opportunity Fund (ELOF) has been established to assist current students on their experiential learning endeavors — from internship opportunities to co-ops to the Honors Program.
The College was proud to announce Hospitality Management student, Benjamin Sanchez as the first recipient of its Experiential Learning Opportunity Fund! Benjamin secured a Co-Op at Teeling Bros. in Dublin, Ireland during the Spring 2022 semester. After having left Higher Ed, Benjamin worked in the service industry, but then resumed pursuing his degree at St. Thomas Aquinas College. President Ken Daly was pleased to present Benjamin with a $2,500 check from the Experiential Learning Opportunity Fund, which helped him during his Co-Op journey.
Mary Kate Henry ‘24 went to Dublin, Ireland to complete her Co-Op with Croke Park. She noted that upon transferring to the College in Spring ‘22, she was able to pursue opportunities and live out her dreams: “Through the Experiential Learning Opportunity Fund, I had the pleasure to work in Croke Park in the Meeting & Events Department, which oversees over 1.5 million visitors a year. This opportunity gave me more connections and has advanced my learning in the career I want to pursue. I know for years to come I will be thankful for this opportunity and forever grateful I went for it.”
Devin Niccoll ’25, a student in our Hospitality Management program, has been working in Dublin, Ireland in a co-op with Teeling Brothers. Devin has continued to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting, and has been learning new skills in operations management, while utilizing innovative technologies in the workplace.
