 – Opportunity for Rising High School Juniors and Seniors to Earn College Credits and Explore STEM –

St. Thomas Aquinas College is thrilled to announce the continuation of its highly acclaimed STEM Exploration Summer Program. This annual program, now in its fourth year, promises an exhilarating one-week residential experience designed to ignite passion for STEM in rising junior and senior high school students.

“We are deeply committed to empowering the next generation of leaders in STEM. The STEM Exploration Summer Program embodies our mission to provide transformative learning opportunities which inspire curiosity and career readiness,” said President Ken Daly. “By offering students the opportunity to earn three college credits while engaging in hands-on STEM experiences, this exploration program provides them with a head start on their academic journeys.

Under the guidance of esteemed faculty and industry experts, participants will delve into diverse STEM disciplines, earning three transferable college credits through the College’s “SCI 100: STEM Exploration” course. Beyond the classroom, students will embark on captivating off-site STEM excursions, interact with members of the College’s STEM Advisory Board, and gain valuable insights into potential STEM career paths.

This transformative program priced at a discounted rate of $1,000, covers housing, dining, and an immersive educational experience, providing FREE college credits (a $3,500 standalone value). Scholarships for the program fee are available to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all interested students.

Dr. Bianca Wentzell, Dean of the School of STEM at St. Thomas Aquinas College, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are so excited to offer our STEM Exploration Summer Program again this year. In past years, students have noted that this immersive experience has inspired them to embark on career paths in STEM fields such as Computer Science, Biology, and more. We cannot wait to meet this year’s cohort of students.”

Applications are currently open and will be accepted through April 4, 2025. To learn more and to apply, please visit stac.edu/STEMexplore.

Since its inception on Earth Day 2021, the College’s School of STEM has expanded its offerings with new programs, including graduate degrees in Exercise Science launching in Fall 2025. It has also established the College’s STEM Advisory Board and introduced innovative learning opportunities. In Fall 2025, the new SKAE Astronomy Center will open, featuring a state-of-the-art telescope and providing research and hands-on experiences for students and the community.
