Trenyce Scott ’26 is a junior at St. Thomas Aquinas College majoring in Biochemistry. This summer, Trenyce is a Counselor in the College’s STEM Summer Exploration Summer Program, a one-week overnight learning experience for local high school students. During the program, students ignite their passions and are encouraged to ask questions, uncover answers, imagine possibilities and learn about the world around them. The students learn in the field and in the lab from Trenyce, her fellow counselors, as well as expert professors in the School of STEM.
Trenyce notes: “I’m originally from the beautiful island of Jamaica. When I’m not in the lab or class, you’ll find me trying new foods (I’m always on the lookout for a good Caribbean spot), curled up with a good book, or catching up with friends in the Library. After graduation, I’m planning to head to grad school and then dive into pharmaceutical research to help develop the next generation of life‑saving drugs.”
