St. Thomas Aquinas College will give you the tools to change your life. That’s why we’ve created the St. Thomas Aquinas College Pledge Program – a scholarship and career-readiness opportunity for all incoming first-year, full-time students. Through the Pledge Program, we can help you gain access to a St. Thomas Aquinas College education so you can make a difference in your life and throughout the world. As a St. Thomas Aquinas student, you matter in every way. We want to ensure that you have every opportunity for success.

OUR PLEDGE

  1. We will provide you with at least $50,000 in scholarships and grants over four years.
    The first part of our Pledge is a commitment of scholarships and grants of at least $12,500 per year for full-time incoming first-year students. We understand affordability is a major consideration when choosing a college and we’re making a financial commitment to you for your future.
  2. We will offer you on-campus housing for all four years.
    Many colleges offer you housing, but we can guarantee that you will have College housing for your entire four-year college experience.
  3. We will keep you on a path to graduate in four years.
    We promise to work with you to stay on track to complete your undergraduate degree in four years. If you remain in good academic standing, we will help you complete the degree that aligns with your career interests and help you enroll in the classes that will get you there each semester.
  4. We will connect you with a mentor.
    The transition from high school to college can be a challenge—and the transition to the working world an even more crucial transition to navigate. We promise you we’ll be there to mentor you in all areas of your academic life. That includes helping you find the right faculty, staff, alumni, or community partner to mentor you from your first day on campus to your walk across the commencement stage.
  5. We will provide you with an internship opportunity.
    While you prepare to embark on a career, there is no substitute for real-world experience. We promise that working alongside your professors and St. Thomas Aquinas College’s career advising professionals you will find and complete a challenging internship, and enjoy a meaningful experience that fits your career aspirations.
  6. We will set you up with a job interview.
    When you graduate from St. Thomas Aquinas College, we want to make sure that interviewers, prospective employers, bosses, supervisors, and colleagues recognize just how unique you are. We promise you’ll have the opportunity to interview with one of our outstanding alumni before graduation. It’s a valuable opportunity to expand your experience, test-drive your interviewing skills, and gain valuable feedback on how to advocate for yourself in a competitive job market.
  7. We will provide you with further Career Development opportunities.
    We promise to work with you to develop your professional profile. The Office of Career Development will host workshops to prepare you for a successful career. These workshops include Resume & Cover Letter Writing, LinkedIn, Social Media For the Job Hunt, Dining Etiquette, Dress For Success, Salary Negotiation, & Interview Skills. Additional programs and services include Company Tours, Non-Profit Xchange, Job & Internship Fairs, Career Assessments, Career Counseling, and Career Panels. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Pledge is for all new incoming first-year, full-time students and has seven main components:

  1. We will provide students with an automatic $50,000 scholarship over four years, with no income eligibility requirements.
  2. We will offer you on-campus housing all four years.
  3. We will keep you on a path to graduate in four years.
  4. We will connect you with a mentor.
  5. We will provide you with an internship opportunity.
  6. We will set you up with a job interview.
  7. We will provide you with further career development opportunities.

The scholarship – $12,500 a year for four years or $50,000 total – automatically renews each year for a total of four years. There is no income requirement.

There is no additional application required. All-new, first-time incoming students will receive notification of the award as part of their admission acceptance letter.

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Pledge scholarship is given in addition to any other merit and need-based aid. Unlike programs offered by some colleges, the STAC Pledge scholarship will be awarded to all new, first-time incoming, full-time students regardless of income.

Students must remain enrolled full time (at least 12 credits per semester) in good academic standing, follow the academic plan for their major, meet with their advisors regularly, and seek guidance from academic support services as necessary. The College will help keep students on a path to complete their undergraduate degrees and enroll in the classes they need. It is recommended that all students meet with their academic advisor regularly to ensure academic success.

You will have the opportunity to work with staff members from the Office of Career Development to determine how a mentor can help you meet your academic and career goals. They will help identify a faculty/staff member or someone in the community who may best serve as a mentor.

Students at St. Thomas Aquinas College have the opportunity to engage in an internship early in their academic careers. Our staff, professors, and academic advisors will help students determine which internship will lead to a beneficial experience.

St Thomas Aquinas College is constantly making new connections with businesses and organizations on students’ behalf, and therefore places where internships may be found continually evolve and expand. As a service through the Office of Career Development, all students have the opportunity to interview with one of our alumni to gain valuable feedback and learn more about how to navigate the career placement process. Our vast alumni network spans many different industries, which allows students to receive feedback directly from those working directly in the career of interest.

Although we believe that all of these experiences lead to a more meaningful experience here at St. Thomas Aquinas College, they are not required to keep the scholarship.
