St. Thomas Aquinas College is proud to announce two new wellness programs: a fully refreshed and renovated Kraus Fitness Center and recognition as an “Exercise is Medicine®” campus.
The College’s Kraus Fitness Center was unveiled this morning during a ribbon cutting ceremony and includes new equipment, new layout and floor plan, STAC maroon and gold accents, and upgraded locker rooms. The ceremony was a gathering of the entire St. Thomas Aquinas community and included student athletes sharing the positive impact of the newly refreshed space.
“We have a long legacy and passionate commitment to the support of the health and wellness needs of our students,” said St. Thomas Aquinas President Ken Daly. “We are delighted to open our refreshed fitness center and invest in exercise programs across our campus, which will benefit all of our Spartans.”
The Exercise is Medicine® On Campus (EIM-OC) program, part of a a global health initiative managed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), calls upon universities and colleges to promote physical activity as a vital sign of health and encourages faculty, staff, and students to work together to improve the health and well-being of the campus community.
“Through these new offerings, we will be working to continue to grow the impact that wellness has on each of us as well as the collective whole community,” said St. Thomas Aquinas College Vice President of Student Development Kevin Nesbitt. “We look forward to the further integration of EIM-OC on campus and the opportunities to come.”
