Over $265,000 Raised for Student Scholarships
In November, St. Thomas Aquinas College hosted its Annual Tribute Dinner, a night filled with celebration, recognition, and gratitude. The event honored three exceptional individuals whose contributions and achievements have left an indelible mark on their communities and industries: Javier L. Evans, Aquinas Medal recipient; Sr. Margaret Theresa Oettinger, O.P. ‘67, Founders Award recipient; and Martin Cottingham, Mission Impact Award recipient, and featured a student testimonial from William Thyberg ’26 that told a story of resiliency, determination, team-work, and love.
The dinner, one of the College’s premier fundraising events, successfully raised more than $265,000. All proceeds from the event will directly support student scholarships and emergency needs through the Hardship to HeartShare Fund, furthering St. Thomas Aquinas College’s mission to make higher education accessible for deserving students.
The event’s host and Master of Ceremonies was John Elliott, a well-known meteorologist for CBS2 News This Morning and CBS2 News At Noon. Elliott’s vibrant personality set the tone for the evening, engaging attendees with his energy and heartfelt commentary. With a career that includes reporting for NBC News and MSNBC, Elliott’s experience as a trusted journalist and anchor added depth to the celebration.
