Our capstone course is a full year program, giving our students sufficient time to perform a truly meaningful and substantial real-world project of their own design.
Career Preparation & Mentoring
Small class sizes make it possible to connect with experts who will mentor you through your college journey and beyond. Our faculty are actively involved in exciting research projects and often invite students to participate as co-researchers and co-presenters at academic conferences.
Students will learn both the mathematical foundations of ML algorithms, as well as the high-level software used to address realistic data science tasks. This course provides the theory necessary to adapt to a rapidly advancing field, equipping our graduates to be productive employees from day one.
Students will learn how to use cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud to address large-scale data analysis and machine learning tasks. They will gain critical experience with traditional “Big Data” tools like Apache Spark, data warehousing technologies like Google BigQuery, and cloud-based machine learning platforms like Amazon Sagemaker.
Our full year (two-term) capstone project allows students to directly experience the work of a data scientist by applying their analytical, modeling, programming, and visualization skills to a real-world data science project of their own design.
