Web and User Experience design
The Web and User Experience (UX) Design minor prepares students to create engaging, user-centered digital experiences through a blend of visual design, web development, and digital strategy. Students gain hands-on experience in website development, user experience, visual communication, and digital production while developing practical skills that complement majors across the liberal arts, business, social sciences, and beyond.
Through project-based coursework, students will graduate with a portfolio showcasing websites, digital products, and creative work that demonstrates the technical, creative, and strategic expertise employers value.

Featured Courses
This is an introductory course in the software and technology used by design professionals. Emphasis will be placed on Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
This course is an introduction to the design, creation, and maintenance of web pages and websites. Students learn how to critically evaluate website quality, learn how to create and maintain quality web pages, learn about web design standards and why they’re important, and learn to create and manipulate images. Students develop the necessary technical, theoretical, and design skills to create user-sensitive websites and learn how to develop efficient navigation of a website.
This course will introduce students to digital advertising and marketing theories as well as best practices in digital marketing. This course will serve as a foundational course for the new customer journey and will introduce topics such as social media marketing, search engine optimization, marketing analytics, and the application of machine learning to advertising.
Web and User Experience Design minor courses are offered online through a consortium of accredited colleges and universities. Web and User Experience Design courses within the program are delivered by faculty employed by partner institutions in the consortium, with technology and administrative support provided by Rize Education.
Oversight of courses offered through the consortium are reviewed and approved by St. Thomas Aquinas College. Students register through St. Thomas Aquinas College and receive academic credit from St. Thomas Aquinas College.
