Join the St. Thomas Aquinas College community on Monday, June 3, 2024 for the 52nd annual St. Thomas Aquinas College Golf Classic. The day will begin with breakfast at 10:00am, shotgun start at 12:00pm and conclude with our reception starting at 5:30pm. This year we will be honoring John Lawler and Sheena and Timothy Tracy from Risk Strategies for everything they have contributed to The College.
2024 Honorees
Dr. John Lawler
Trustee Emeritus
John Lawler is a retired engineer, scientist, former professor, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
John was a partner in Quirk, Lawler & Matusky Engineers from 1965 – 1974. In 1974 – 1999, he was a partner in Lawler, Matusky & Skelly Engineers. From 1999 – 2003, John served as a consultant to the firm. John’s firm assessed the impact of man’s activity on the Hudson River, with particular emphasis on the impact of existing and proposed Hudson River electric generating stations at the time. His studies of the organic waste assimilation capacity of the Hudson River were used by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to set treatment requirements all along the river.
Lawler served as a trustee of St. Thomas Aquinas College from 1976 – 1989 and as Chairman of the Board from 1987 – 1989. In 1989, he was named Trustee Emeritus and serves in that capacity currently.
John taught at St. Thomas Aquinas College as an Adjunct Professor in Mathematics from 2003 – 2013. He also taught at Manhattan College from 1956-1958, 1963-1966, and 2003 – present. In addition, he taught at Rutgers University from 1960 – 1965.
John, and his wife Eileen, received the prestigious St. Thomas Aquinas College Aquinas Medal in 1996. He received an honorary degree in 1984 and was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2003. John and Eileen established the John and Eileen Lawler Scholarship Fund in 1996.
John graduated from Manhattan College, BCE in 1955 and went on to graduate from New York University, MCE in 1958. He received his Ph.D. in 1960.
Sheena Tracy
Managing Director
Sheena Tracy currently serves as the Managing Director at Risk Strategies Company, specializing in providing Employee Benefit Consulting and Brokerage Services to clients in the higher education industry.
Prior to joining Risk Strategies, Sheena was Vice President of Gerard B. Tracy Associates, Inc. for 15 years. GBT was a family owned and operated firm that was acquired by Risk Strategies in June of 2019. Sheena also worked at Hewitt Associates, now AON, as a Financially Analyst, prior to GBT. She was named Fairfield County Business Journal’s 40 under Forty and was named one of Employee Benefit Advisors Rising Stars.
Sheena holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Bentley University.
Tim Tracy Jr.
Managing Director – Risk Strategies
Tim has over 20 years of experience providing employee benefit consulting and brokerage services to hundreds of employers throughout the country. Prior to joining Risk Strategies, Tim was Vice President
of Gerard B. Tracy Associates, Inc. for 14 years. GBT was a family owned and operated firm that was
acquired by Risk Strategies in June of 2019. Prior to GBT, Tim worked at Guardian Life Insurance Company as a Benefits Advisor and at Empire BlueCross BlueShield. While at Guardian Tim was awarded the Metro Region Employee Benefit Advisor of the Year.
Tim is the past President of the Connecticut chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters. He was named Fairfield County Business Journal’s 40 under Forty and was named one of Employee Benefit Advisors Rising Stars. He has been featured in numerous media outlets for his insurance expertise and has spoken at multiple industry events. Tim holds a B.S. degree from Roanoke University.
He resides in Fairfield, CT with his wife Hilary, son Declan, daughter Finley and their yellow lab Ranger.
