Our admissions team carefully reviews every application rather than relying on an algorithm or valuing your grades above all else.

The St. Thomas Aquinas Admissions Office has a rolling admissions process that accepts applications year-round for both the fall and spring semesters and sends decisions within two weeks. While there is no deadline, we encourage you to complete your application in a timely manner.
For those applying for 2024, please submit your application on the Common Application page. The SAT/ACT requirement for Spring/Fall 2024 is waived, and we are test-optional. You may submit test scores if you have them, but we evaluate all students and no preference is given either way.
Graduate REQUIREMENTS & Applications
Individuals applying for graduate degree programs will apply directly to their school of interest. Below find the requirements and applications.
School of Education
Admission Requirements include:
- A completed application form and a non-refundable application fee.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
- Official copies of transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended.
- A copy of teaching certificate
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Submission of three references
- An interview with the Director of Graduate Education.
Progression Through MSEd Program
Candidates are required to:
- Maintain the required level of academic performance: a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Candidates’ performance in the MSEd program can apply for matriculation after completing twelve credits. For more information please contact the Graduate Education Office 845-398 4150.
- Candidates can apply for the practicum in the spring semester prior to graduation.
Admission to the initial post-baccalaureate level (MST) teacher education programs requires:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution verifying the completion of a liberal arts major or 30 credit concentration in an academic area.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Submission of three professional references
- Interview with the Coordinator of the MST program which includes the submission of a supervised writing sample
- A 1-2 page professional goals statement indicating professional goals and reason for undertaking graduate study in education
PROGRESSION THROUGH THE MST PROGRAM
Candidates’ performance in the MST program is reviewed at the end of the first fall semester when they apply for matriculation. To continue in the MST program, candidates must:
- Apply for matriculation after completing nine credits
- Maintain the required level of academic performance: A minimum GPA of 3.0.
By the end of the first fall semester:
- Submit two copies of the application for admission to student teaching.
By the end of the spring semester candidates must:
- Submit an academic reference from a teacher education faculty member
- Apply for fingerprint clearance
- Register for certification on the NYSED TEACH website.
The Coordinator of MST programs reviews the application for matriculation. Candidates who fail to meet the requirements are notified in writing by the Director of Graduate Education who schedules an interview for the candidate with the Candidate Review Committee. The purpose of the interview is to assist the candidate in developing realistic goals and plans. Candidates are notified in writing of the outcome of the interview.
Admission to the Post-Masters Certificate programs include: TESOL Certificate Program (18 credits, on-campus), Autism Certificate Program: (12 credits; online) Undergraduate and/or Graduate degree required. Post-Master’s Certificate Program: Literacy (15 credits; online) Master’s Degree and valid teaching certification required. Post-Master’s Certificate Program: Special Education (18 credits; hybrid) Master’s Degree and valid teaching certification required.
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
Admission Requirements include:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited undergraduate institution;
- A minimum of a 2.8 grade point average, based on a 4.0 scale;
- Three letters of recommendation from employers or college professors;
- Current resume
- Fill out the MBA Application

A completed application file consists of the application form, a non-refundable application fee of $30, three (3) letters of recommendation, official transcripts, GMAT scores (if applicable), the Statement of Professional Goals, the TOEFL Scores (if applicable) and a resume. A personal interview is strongly recommended. For students with an undergraduate degree outside the United States, a World Education Services (WES) transcript evaluation must be provided.
SCHOOL OF ARts & Social Sciences
The following information must be submitted to the Office of Admissions for consideration of an application for the Masters of Public Administration in Criminal Justice Administration.
- Completed Application
- Official transcripts from each previously attended college or university must be sent to the Office of Admissions directly from the issuing institution
- GRE General Test scores are required for applicants with a grade point average below 2.8
- Three letters of recommendation
- Statement of Professional Goals
- A current Resume
