Local Hot Spots
Visit Piermont Pier just a couple of miles from campus for a walk along the Hudson River. Nearby, you’ll find coffee shops, restaurants, and kayak rentals. Or head to the Palisades Center for shopping, eating, a movie, an arcade, ice skating, or a show at Levity Live. Hungry? Grab a pizza at The Mountain House just down the road, a bite at Dunkin’ Donuts in Tappan, a pastry and morning brew at the Main Street Starbucks in Nyack, or a cheeseburger at the Orangeburg Diner less than a mile from campus.
Nature & Neighborhoods
When you’re ready for a break from the books and some time in the great outdoors, head to the Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail for a four-mile walk or bike ride through quaint neighborhoods surrounded by woodlands and parks. Connect to two other trails that overlook the Hudson River. Check out beautiful scenic areas just a few miles from campus or round up a few friends for a picnic in Tallman Mountain State Park.

Ready for some hustle and bustle? New York City is just 15 miles north of the campus. The Office of Student Engagement regularly organizes trips to see Broadway shows, concerts, and professional sports games. Not only that, but St. Thomas Aquinas faculty can help you connect with internships and employment opportunities in Manhattan.
