Students may study psychology as a social/behavioral discipline and an experimental science. Major theories and methodological approaches are stressed. Field experiences are provided through international, national, and local placements in facilities such as psychiatric rehabilitation and mental health centers, residential institutions, community residences, research institutes, corporations, special education classes, etc.
Those who study psychology assist in the improvement of the lives of those who are mentally ill, addicted, emotionally disabled, developmentally disabled, physically disabled and/or elderly. Psychology also provides a valuable background in the fields of human services, human resources, business, personnel, law and education.
