It’s a small—and interconnected—world, and those who are proficient in more than one language have a significant advantage over those who aren’t. When you major in Spanish, you’ll become fluent in the second most widely spoken language in the world. The United States is currently the fifth-largest Spanish-speaking nation in the world. Multinational corporations and small businesses alike increasingly need employees with knowledge of foreign languages and cultures to market products to customers and work effectively with employees around the globe.
