The School of Education is accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). Learn more here.
St. Thomas Aquinas College is proud to partner with Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers (TSTT), a non-profit organization that mentors culturally diverse and economically challenged students interested in pursuing a career in teaching.
The TSTT program mentors prospective teachers for eight years: four years in high school and four years in college. High school students who participate in the TSTT program who apply to St. Thomas Aquinas are eligible for a scholarship that provides up to 50% tuition assistance. Let your admissions counselor know you participate in the program when you apply.
The college welcomes TSTT students from all participating high schools in New York and Connecticut. When they come to St. Thomas Aquinas, students in the TSTT will be assigned an academic advisor who will guide them through registration and program requirements. Dr. Finnegan, Professor of Education and TSTT college mentor, will keep you informed about upcoming TSTT workshops and will be available to answer any additional questions you might have.
TSTT students have a strong record of finding full-time teaching jobs when they graduate. TSTT graduates from STAC now work in area school districts, including East Ramapo Central School District, Clarkstown Central School District, and New York City Public Schools.
